Deadly Gathering Turns Violent, Two Arrested in Olivehurst Shooting as Investigation Continues
A tragic shooting at a gathering in Olivehurst has left one man dead and two suspects in custody, according to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department. The incident unfolded this evening around 7:10 p.m. on the 1700 block of 6th Avenue, where what began as a social gathering quickly escalated into a deadly altercation.
Deputies were called to the scene following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered a 30-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital in an attempt to save his life, but despite their efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators moved swiftly, using information gathered at the scene to identify vehicles connected to the ઘટના. This breakthrough led authorities to two suspects: 21-year-old Adrian Vega of Yuba City and 24-year-old Namee Najarro of Marysville. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.
The suspects now face a series of serious charges, including homicide, assault with a firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and carrying a loaded weapon. Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed the motive behind the shooting, but they continue to piece together the events that led to the fatal confrontation.
Authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine whether additional suspects may have been involved. Community members are urged to come forward with any information that could assist in bringing full clarity and justice to the case.
