Teen Arrested in Deadly East Side Shooting, Authorities Charge 16-Year-Old as Adult in Ongoing Investigation
Police have arrested a 16-year-old Noah Hogan in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon on the city’s east side. The suspect, identified as Noah R. Hogan, faces multiple serious charges, including murder, criminal recklessness, dangerous possession of a weapon by a child, and obstruction of justice. Due to the severity of the allegations, authorities have waived Hogan to adult court. He is currently being held at the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center as the case proceeds through the legal system.
The arrest follows a disturbing incident on March 24, when officers with the Evansville Police Department were dispatched to Kimber Lane shortly after 12:00 p.m. Authorities reported receiving multiple 911 calls from concerned residents who heard gunfire and saw a person lying motionless on the sidewalk.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital in an effort to save his life. Despite those efforts, the man later succumbed to his injuries, officials confirmed.
While Hogan’s arrest marks a significant development in the case, investigators emphasize that the situation remains under active investigation. Police have not yet publicly identified the victim, pending proper notification of family members.
Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and piece together the events leading up to the shooting. Community members are urged to cooperate with law enforcement as officials work to ensure justice is served and to better understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
