Scott County Shooting Investigation,TBI Probes Deadly Incident in Stanley Creek Area
Authorities in Scott County are actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Monday morning in the Stanley Creek area, leaving one man dead and raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has taken the lead in the case at the request of Jared Effler, the 8th Judicial District Attorney General.
According to officials, deputies with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting at a residence located off Stanley Creek Road in Oneida. Upon arrival, they discovered a man inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
At this stage, investigators have released limited details about what led to the shooting, including whether any suspects have been identified or if the incident was isolated. TBI agents are currently working to piece together the sequence of events, examining evidence and conducting interviews to better understand what occurred.
Officials emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and that no further information is being disclosed at this time to preserve the integrity of the case. Residents in the Stanley Creek community have been left unsettled as authorities continue their work.
